Billie Bemis, M.S., LMFT, LAC, CFI, SAP, EMDR II

Billie Bemis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), a Child and Family Investigator (CFI), and a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).  She has completed training through the Gottman Institute to provide Gottman based marriage and couple therapy, EMDR level II training, and training in Neurofeedback and biofeedback.

Billie has helped her clients with a variety of problems such as infidelity, grief, depression, self-esteem issues, anxiety, addictions, pre-marital counseling, and communication problems to name a few.  She has worked with a diverse client base including offenders in the criminal justice system, adolescents, women, couples, groups, men, and elderly clients.

Billie maintains that change is possible for every single person if he or she chooses to change. The onus, the responsibility, and the choice always lies with the client. Billie says, “I feel my responsibility in therapy with clients is to hold an invisible basket for clients to drop in the thoughts, habits and feelings they want to remove from their lives. What the client chooses to put in the basket is up to them”. Billie is a non-judgemental, compassionate, and understanding therapist.

Billie has has worked as a therapist in the Denver Metro area in community mental health centers, outpatient services, in home services, and in correction facilities.

As a coach, Billie has helped many clients be more productive with their time and energy, improve the quality of their lives through prioritization and organization as well as helped to increase her clients’ focus. Billie has worked with business owners, adolescents, employees, men and women looking to take their lives from ordinary to extraordinary. Upbeat and motivational, Billie’s spirit is contagious with her clients.

Billie also provides supervision for marriage and family therapists and interns, professional counselors as well as addictions counselors.

Billie is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Colorado Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Colorado Counseling Association, the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, the Colorado Association for Addictions Professionals, the Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee.

If your insurance is not listed, Billie will be happy to provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company if your insurance benefits cover out-of-network providers.  In this case, you would pay the fee at the time of the appointment and submit the provided invoice to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Shannon Oberndorf, M.S., LMFT, EMDR II

Shannon Oberndorf is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is committed to helping couples and families improve their relationships, connect with others, and enhance their quality of life. Taking a strengths-based, solution focused approach to therapy, she assists individuals, couples, and families in changing or eliminating ineffective behaviors, make more effective choices, and develop healthy coping skills to deal with life’s ups and downs. “Individuals, couples and families are able to create opportunities for change with an emphasis on accountability and personal growth.”

 Shannon has a strong commitment and passion to serve those and their families on the front line including military couples and families, first responders and health care givers, law enforcement and trauma survivors.  Her therapeutic approach is based on establishing a genuine, trusting relationship with her clients allowing them to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and an EMDR II trained clinician. EMDR is an effective therapeutic method for treating panic attacks, anxiety, reducing stress, pain, addictions, phobias, grief and loss, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Shannon is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Colorado Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
